PAMA, in partnership with Shure Incorporated, announces the 2024 recipients of the fourth annual Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship. Brunner, a long-time Shure executive, a past president of PAMA and a leading voice in the professional audio community, had an unwavering passion for education and mentorship throughout his career. Each scholarship is offered annually to students worldwide who are pursuing an education in professional audio.
The 2024 Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship recipients are Valor Swezey from University of New Haven (for the second year) and Narek Manoukian from Southern Utah University and Mei Hei from Berklee College of Music (each for the first year).
The Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance, in partnership with Shure Incorporated, offers the Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship annually to students worldwide who are pursuing an education in professional audio. Brunner, a long-time Shure executive, PAMA founding member and leading voice in the audio community, had an unwavering passion for education and mentorship throughout his career. The $2,000 scholarship is targeted to a recipient following their passion for audio in an accredited audio program. PAMA and Shure will specifically be curious to learn how the applicant plans to share their knowledge with others in a manner consistent with Mark’s legacy.
Qualifications
A student pursuing a degree in professional audio, enrolled in an accredited program. Only students enrolled full-time will be considered.
Application
Applicants will submit a 300-word essay on why they are pursuing an audio degree and specifically detail how they plan to share their knowledge with others in a manner consistent with the legacy of Mark Brunner.
Award
Applications for awards are open from April 1, 2024 and close at 5:00 p.m. EST on May 31, 2024. Applicants will be notified regarding award determination no later than August 31, 2024. Scholarship winners will be profiled in a press release and on the PAMA website following award announcements.
The value of the scholarship award will be up to $2,000 per year. Applicants may reapply each year of eligibility (maximum four years), depending on the length of the applicant’s degree program.
